The Mancraft HPA SDiK Engine is a High-Pressure Air (HPA) conversion kit for sniper rifles.
The HPA mechanism operates without the need for strong spring, making it easy to use and maintain. You won’t have to worry about giving away your position by unnecessary struggling with the rifle reload. Additionally, since the entire energy used to propel the BB is stored in high-pressure air , the stress put on the internal parts is minimal which guarantee an exceptionally long lifespan and requires minimal maintenance.
One of the standout features of the Mancraft HPA Engine is its effortless FPS adjustment. Fine-tuning the velocity of your shots takes mere seconds, allowing you to adapt to varying field requirements on the fly. With the ability to easily regulate FPS, you maintain full control over your rifle’s output.
Kit includes:
- Conversion kit,
- 150 cm long pneumatic tube,
- Pneumatic fitting (if selected)
* Novritsch SSG-10 trigger have to be replaced with standard VSR trigger to work with the Mancraft engine.

What is Mancraft HPA Conversion Kit – SDiK ?
SDiK stands for Sniper Drop in Kit. The Mancraft HPA Conversion Kit revolutionizes your rifle by replacing the bolt action spring system with a custom pneumatic engine. Thus allowing you for converting spring sniper rifle to HPA powered one. As a result, this changes how BBs are propelled. In essence your VSR, L96 or Ares Amoeba in our example, will use compressed air to send BB toward the target. It does it by releasing HPA (High Pressure Air) in the barrel just behind the airsoft ball, creating a burst of pressure that transform its potential energy into BB’s kinetic energy.

Assembly Guide for Mancraft SDiK HPA Upgrade Kit:
- Disassembly:
– Disassemble the rifle until you can remove the existing trigger assembly, spring, and piston parts.
– Keep all parts and screws organized on the side.
– Take photos during the process for reference during reassembly.
– Ensure the trigger is released, and there is no spring tension on internal parts.
– Keep all parts clean, replacing grease and oil as needed. - Surface Care:
– Avoid placing parts on a dirty or contaminated surface to prevent scratches or internal damages when reassembling. - Inserting Mancraft SDiK:
– Insert the Mancraft SDiK HPA Upgrade Kit into the external cylinder of your rifle.
– Ensure the trigger assembly is installed before applying spring tension to the engine.
– Close the external cylinder with the cylinder head, avoiding potential damage to the tube.
– Do not pull the handle if the trigger assembly unit is not fully installed. - Air Tube Routing:
– Guide the air tube either through an existing hole or create a new 4.5mm hole in the rifle’s stock (usually at the bottom of the hand grip).
– Feed the air line through to your external HPA Tank and Pressure Regulator.
– If using CO2 adaptors, consider routing the air tube inside the rifle to reach the adaptor hidden in the back end of the stock. - Reassembly:
– Follow the reverse of the disassembly steps to assemble the rifle.
– Be cautious with rifles that may have plastic threads or locking mechanisms; avoid using excessive force.
– Relax the grip and realign parts if needed rather than forcing tight bolts together.

What are the advantages of HPA engines
High-Pressure Air (HPA) engines in airsoft guns offer several advantages over traditional electric and gas-powered systems. Here are some of the key benefits:
- Consistent Performance: HPA systems provide a more consistent and stable shooting performance compared to traditional gas-powered guns. This consistency is especially crucial for players who require precision and accuracy in their shots.
- Adjustable FPS (Feet Per Second): HPA systems allow users to easily adjust the velocity of their airsoft gun by manipulating the air pressure. This feature is useful for complying with different field regulations or adjusting to various gameplay scenarios.
- Instant Trigger Response: HPA engines provide virtually instant trigger response, resulting in quicker and more responsive shooting. This is advantageous in fast-paced airsoft scenarios where split-second reactions can be crucial.
- Low Maintenance: HPA systems generally require less maintenance than gas blowback systems. They don’t rely on complex internal components like pistons and gears found in AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns), making them more straightforward to maintain.
- Efficiency: HPA systems are often more efficient in terms of gas consumption compared to traditional gas blowback systems. This efficiency can translate to longer play sessions without the need to carry large amounts of gas canisters.
- Consistent FPS in Cold Weather: HPA systems are less affected by cold weather conditions compared to gas-powered guns. They maintain a more consistent FPS even in low temperatures, providing a more reliable performance year-round.
- Customization: HPA systems offer a high degree of customization. Users can adjust various parameters, such as rate of fire, velocity, and burst settings, to suit their preferences and the requirements of different game scenarios.
- No Gas Blowback: Unlike gas blowback guns, HPA systems don’t produce the same level of recoil or blowback effect. Some players prefer this as it allows for more precise follow-up shots.
It’s important to note that while HPA systems have these advantages, they also come with their own set of considerations, such as the need for an external air source (typically a high-pressure air tank), additional equipment like regulators. Always ensure that you comply with local regulations and field rules when using HPA systems.
Upgrading airsoft sniper rifle with stronger spring vs upgrading to HPA
Upgrading with a Stronger Spring:
- Cost: Lower Cost: Upgrading the spring is generally less expensive initially. However, consider potential long-term costs related to wear and tear.
- Complexity: Simpler Upgrade: Swapping out the spring is straightforward, but the simplicity might come at the expense of certain advanced feature like fps and air volume regulation.
- Power Increase: Limited Power Increase: While a stronger spring can increase FPS, it also means a harder pull on the bolt. This might make the rifle more challenging to use, especially in intense situations.
- Consistency: Dependent on Internal Components: The increased stress on internal components with a stronger spring might affect the rifle’s consistency over time.
Upgrading to HPA:
- Cost: Higher Initial Cost: Converting to an HPA system has a higher upfront cost but offers potential savings in the long run by reducing wear on internal parts.
- Complexity: More Complex Installation: Installing an HPA system requires more components, but it also opens up advanced features and precise control that might enhance overall performance.
- Power Increase: Highly Adjustable Power: HPA systems provide not only a significant power boost but also adjustable FPS. This means you can fine-tune your rifle’s performance to suit different scenarios without sacrificing ease of use.
- Consistency: High Consistency: HPA systems are known for their consistent shot-to-shot performance. The precise control over air pressure ensures reliability, even in challenging conditions.
- Versatility: Versatile Adjustments: HPA systems not only allow you to adjust FPS but also provide control over other factors like air volume, that directly impacts long-range firing consistency.
In summary, while upgrading the spring might seem initially more cost-effective, it could lead to challenges in terms of user comfort, increased wear on internal components, and limited adjustability. On the other hand, transitioning to an HPA system, despite the higher initial cost, offers a more advanced, customizable, and consistent solution that can enhance overall performance and versatility. The decision ultimately depends on individual preferences and priorities.

Other components of the HPA setup for AEG and Spring Rifles:
HPA tank
HPA tanks are available in various sizes and shapes to accommodate different needs. It’s important to consider the size of the tank, as smaller tanks will require more frequent refills. If you don’t have easy access to a scuba diving shop or a personal filling station with a large scuba tank, opting for a larger HPA tank may be beneficial to minimize refilling inconveniences. Check our whole range of tanks here
Pressure Regulator
To maintain pressure and optimize performance, you need a pressure regulator. While any airsoft or paintball low-pressure regulator (80-150psi) works, we highly recommend the original Mancraft Regulator. It simplifies setup by eliminating the need for extra fittings and ensures peace of mind, preventing overpressure and potential conversion damage. You can find our Mancraft Pressure Regulators here.
